Our Philosophy
Our programming is deeply rooted in Shinnecock culture, and it is woven into all aspects of who we are. Our goal is to provide our youth with a strong sense of self and an understanding and appreciation of their history.
Our Clubhouse is a safe space where Shinnecock youth and young adults, as well as Native youth from neighboring communities, ages 4 to 24, can gather, learn, and share across generations. The Boys & Girls Club of Shinnecock Nation supports the physical, social, emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial wellbeing of our members. Our work aims to ease the impacts of substance use, mental illness, and trauma in the Shinnecock community, with a focus on reducing substance use and suicidal behavior among our youth by providing resources, activities, and opportunities. Above all, we strive to build trust with our young people, opening communication and creating comfort so we can support them as they grow into adulthood.
